'Spy,' 'The Overnight' & 'Earl and the Dying Girl' highlight SIFF 2015

The Seattle International Film Festival has finally unveiled its full schedule of films that will screen during the 41st annual festival and tickets go on sale today.
The latest comedy from director Paul Feig ("Bridesmaids," "The Heat") kicks off the festival as the Opening Night Gala's featured film. Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law, Jason Statham and Rose Bryne star in this undercover spy comedy. (watch the trailer) The Opening Night Gala will be the one-and-only opportunity to catch Feig's latest comedy during SIFF.
Film festival favorite "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" will be one of the festival's featured Saturday Night Party films. "Me and Earl" won the Grand Jury Prize for drama at Sundance and has become of the season's most critically acclaimed indie flicks of the year. A pair of young filmmaking hobbyists find there may be more than just making silly parody movies when they meet a girl with potentially fatal disease. (watch the trailer)

Jesse Eisenberg, Jason Segel and Anna Chlumsky star in "The End of the Tour," the festival's Centerpiece Gala film. James Ponsoldt's ("The Spectacular Now," "Smashed") new film chronicles the five-day interview between journalist David Lipsky (Eisenberg) and author David Foster Wallace (Segel).
SIFF will wrap up the festival with the raunchy comedy "The Overnight," starring Adam Scott, Taylor Schilling ("Orange Is the New Black") and Jason Schwartzman. A children's playdate becomes an adult playdate after the kids go sleep. (watch the trailer)
Special presentations during the festival include the newest Pixar release "Inside Out," Ian McKellen as an elderly Sherlock Holmes in "Mr. Holmes" as the new stop-motion animation from Aardman Animation ("Wallace & Gromit," "Chicken Run") "Shaun the Sheep."
Kevin Bacon and Jason Schwartzman will be featured guests for two of the festival's "An Evening With..." presentations. Bacon will be on-hand to accept the festival's annual Outstanding Achievement in Acting award, which will be followed by a screening of his new film "Cop Car." Schwartzman will discuss his career during an onstage interview, followed by his latest film "7 Chinese Brothers."
The festival's live music event will focus on the world premiere of the music-based documentary "The Glamour & the Squalor" (watch the trailer) at the Capital Hill club Neumos, and will feature live performances by special surprise guests.
New to SIFF this year is a selection of films for foodies. Eleven films that explore food culture are included in the festival's "Culinary Cinema" sidebar category, and tickets for any featured "Culinary Cinema" screening will be followed by food and drink from a specially prepared menu for a local restaurant.
